Fletcher

I like to think that I learned a little something in photography school and that the hard work and effort I put in at school is evident in the work I produce. But sometimes I just feel like I can't really take too much credit for some of the great shots I get. Like these images of Fletcher. What an adorable, happy little guy he was during the whole shoot! You just can't take a bad picture when you've got such a cutie for a model!

Every once in a while, you get to work with really cool people who are open to trying fun and different things. Fletcher's mom asked if I could do a Warhol style portrait of little Fletcher. I thought it might be kind of fun, so I tried it, and she really loved it! We were going to just try it as an 8x10 but everyone liked it so much, we decide to make a poster out of it!

Zachary at age 5

This first image is dedicated to everyone who has ever had to photograph a less than cooperative model! My nephew is adorable and such a character! I have a few really beautiful portraits of him, but getting him to pose is like pulling teeth! I usually have a chance to shoot one or two frames before he decides he is all done. And once he decides he's done....he's really done. Bribery doesn't work on him, begging doesn't work, nothing can persuade him. Recently, I was doing a shoot with his big brother (who, incidentally, is a supermodel in the making; I could shoot him all day long!) when little Zach jumped on the set and said, "Auntie, take my picture now." He had even gotten dressed up in a nice white dress shirt without being asked! I couldn't believe my luck! Zach actually wanted to have his picture made! Well, it turns out, he did want to have his picture made, but he wanted it made on his terms...not mine. What follows is Zach's official 5th birthday portrait...

Finally starting my blog!

I've finally decided to jump on board the blogging bandwagon! All the cool kids are doing it, aren't they? Now, I don't pretend that my life is so interesting and that what I have to say is so fabulous that I need a blog to get the word out to all of cyberspace! What I do have, though, is a lot of really great photos that I would love to share with everyone. A lot of folks may have seen my website, www.jenniferprovost.com. And some of you may have noticed that it hasn't been updated in quite a while. I will hopefully be addressing that issue soon, but in the meantime, I thought that this blog might be a good way to showcase some of my more recent work. I hope you enjoy the images.
